Fire Blight is prevalent this year, with arborists
reporting occurrences up and down the Front Range. Fire blight is caused by
a bacterium that attacks fruit trees and ornamental shrubs, killing leaves
and fruit, leaving cankers, and giving the tree a burnt look. If not
managed properly, fire blight will continue to spread throughout the tree,
eventually killing it.
